I will go forward even more upright in search for job!
In the middle of May, 17 unemployed women ended the support group within the project "Empowerment of Unemployed Women for Active Participation in the Labour Market – Women´s Choice New Chance!" lead by CESI in partnership with Croatian Employment Service – Branch office Zagreb, Moj posao.net and Institute for Labour Market Development with the support of European Union. The program of support group under the guidance of psychologist Tanja Prekodravac lasted for 12 weeks, 2 hours per week and it comprised a range of themes important for the increase of women's employability. Some of the themes elaborated in the workshops were composing CV, communication skills, non-verbal communication, assertiveness, job interview, dealing with performance anxiety, presentation skills, personal efficiency as well as goal and time management, and all in purpose of knowledge and skill building for the active search of job. After the programme finished participant said that participation in support groups increased their self-confidence and that they gained new knowledge. "I overcame the insecurity". I will set up by my employer in a different way, if there is one in future", said a participant at the end of programme, whereas another added "The workshop enabled me to see myself and my personality more clearly in interaction with others over a longer period of time. I will go forward even more upright in the search for job!".
The support groups from May 20, continue for another 20 unemployed women, and a work practice is in preparation, through which unemployed women will be able to improve their working skills and knowledge, and thus become more competitive in the labour market.
The goal of project "Women´s Choice New Chance!" is to increase the employability of women creating new and innovative models of support and to directly support the unemployed women in their active participation in the labour market as well as awakening the employers and the open public on gender equality in the world of labour, and especially on the threats of social exclusion of long-term unemployed women.
