On the eve of International Day of Roma in Zagreb, a news conference was held to present  the project "Better Perspective of Roma Women in the Labor Market". The project is implemented by the Croatian Employment Service - Regional Office Zagreb, and the partners are the City of Zagreb - City department for social care and people with disabilities, CESI and Association of Roma Women in Croatia "Better Future", while the collaborator of the project is Berufsförderungsinstitut, Burgenland from Austria.

The news conference was attended by CESI representative Anamarija Gospočić.

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the development and implementation of an effective labor market policy, tailored to the needs of Roma women in the city of Zagreb, by developing an individualized approach, assistance and support to unemployed Roma women. Trained trainers for employment/job coaches lead the project users through project activities by individually preparing the Roma women for job searching and providing them with additional assistance in establishing contacts with potential employers.

The project will establish a Center for Counseling, Support and Information (CASI "Romani") in Alfirevićeva street no. 6, in Zagreb, which will carry out project activities and provide services to unemployed Roma women focusing on their  preparation for employment and integration into the world of work. Centre CASI "Romani" will provide the possibility of daily information about job vacancies, writing applications, CVs to beneficiaries and all other interested women and will distribute them to the employers as well as provide information to resolve everyday issues.

A special aspect of the project is raising public awareness on the inclusion of Roma women in the society and the world of work, for which purpose TV spots, billboards and the Web site of the Center will be created.
