Current Gender Issues in Europe
At a conference in France, CESI presents a campaign entitled "Gender Glasses"
From March 2 to March 6, 2011, the second annual meeting of partner organizations in the GET project (Gender Issues in Europe Today) was held in the French city of Narbonne. The meeting was part of EU´s Grundtvig partnership program, and was attended by CESI representatives Anamarija Gospočić and Gordana Obradović Dragišić.
The meeting was held at CIDFF headquarters (the French partner organization), where we were able to see how its members deal with gender issues and gender awareness policy. In addition, we attended a conference on International Women's Day (March 8) organized by CIDFF. At the conference, we talked about the role of CESI in enhancing women's participation in decision-making policies, and presented the "Gender Glasses" campaign.
The aim of the "Gender Issues in Europe" project and partnership is to achieve a common understanding of the problems of constructing gender/sex and gender stereotypes in different historical and cultural contexts, in order to develop, test, and propose models of learning for various groups. The German organization Strategie 21 is the project coordinator.
Along with Strategie 21 and CESI, the following organizations are part of the project as well: RoSa - Rol en Samenleving, vzw. Documentatie Centrum, Bibliotheek en Archief voor Gelijke Kansen, Feminisme en Vrouwenstudies – Belgium, AKROPOLIS,o.s. – the Czech Republic, Eesti Naisteühenduste Ümarlaua Sihtasutus – Estonia, CENTRE D'INFORMATION SUR LES DROITS DES FEMMES ET DES FAMILLES DE L'AUDE – France, University of Iceland - Gender Equality Training Programme – Iceland, UNIVERSITA' DEGLI STUDI DEL MOLISE – Italy, Libera Universita dell'Autobiografia – Italy, CooLabora – Cooperativa de Responsabilidade Limitada – Portugal, Arakli Public Education Centre – Turkey.
