Women are choosing a new chance
Representatives of CESI, Domine and DEŠA
CESI is starting a project "Strengthening of unemployed women in active participation in the labour market – Women are choosing a new chance!" as one of 18 projects which got the grants from EU Pre-Accession Funds "Women in the Labour Market" within IV component of IPA programme "Human Resources Development". Yesterday, on November 6, a ceremonial presentation and signing of contract was held in Zagreb. Beside the project leaders there were present also Ankica Paun Jarallah, HZZ (CES), Jadranka Kosor, Prime Minister of Government of the Republic of Croatia, Đuro Popijač, Minister of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship and Ambassador Paul Vandoren, Head of Delegation of EU to the Republic of Croatia. Through the programme the total of 18 projects were financed, whose leaders are also partners of non-governmental organizations (beside CESI here are also "Korak"; a women's group from Karlovac, "Baranja"; organization for peace and human rights, "DEŠA" Dubrovnik and Domine, Split), institutions, development agencies, as well as local and regional autonomy units (cities and counties) in Croatia, in grant amounts from EUR 100,000 to EUR 150,000.
The main goal of the programme "Women in the Labour Market" is the increase of employability of women and the assistance at the labour market through the active measures of employment policy and special labour methods directed to women in unfavourable position in the labour market, with respect to the principles of gender aware policy.
The target group of project lead by CESI are long-term unemployed women, and the purpose of project is to increase their employability at the labour market through new and innovative models of support. The Project shall be performed over 12 months, and the total value of project amounts to EUR 118,789.58.
The Project will be performed in the city of Zagreb and Zagreb County through the following activities:
1. Info seminars for unemployed women and employers
2. Support groups for unemployed women
3. Work practice of small and medium enterprises
4. Edition – Manual for unemployed women
5. Research "In what kind of work environment do women want to work?"
6. Virtual company "Women's choice" based on the research In what kind of work environment do women want to work
7. Activities connected to the visibility of project (project brochures, portal Libela.org, and media promotion)
