International project GET - Gender Issues in Europe Today

GET - Gender Issues in Europe Today is project CESI will implement through Grundtvig Partnership Program, in partnership with ten organizations and universities from Europe.

Project partners deal in cross-cultural and pan European dialogues with gender issues in their countries and in Europe from a theoretical as well as practical point of view.

Partners intent to get a common understanding of gender stereotypes and its historical and cultural conditionality in order to develop, to test and to offer learning arrangements for various target groups.

Concrete objectives are:

- to learn from each other what we - from different professional perspectives and historical + cultural background - understand when we talk about gender, sex and gender issues

- to acquaint ourselves with new theories and approaches to gender and sex that can help us see the construction of gender in our context from a changed perspective

- to understand better those concepts and place them in the framework of concepts like democracy, human rights, sustainability on national and European level

- to re-think and de-construct actual stereotypes and prejudices about gender in our own and in European context

- to share with partners information, knowledge, practices and European trends helping to break gender stereotypes by adequate learning offers

- to increase the base of methods and learning experiences in presenting various methodology of work of project partners to promote learning and self education of women + men

Partnership will be coordinated by German organization Strategie 21 and other partners included are: RoSa - Rol en Samenleving, vzw.
