DAPHNE Programme of the European Commission

The project of the European Network against Violence

CESI is involved in implementation of an international project of the European Commission, DAPHE III  "Gender Equality Awareness Raising against Intimate Partner Violence" whose purpose is to contribute to primary prevention of violence in partner relationships through interventions in schools.

Representatives of CESI, Sanja Cesar and Nataša Bijelić participated in the second meeting of the partner organizations in Berlin on 25th and 26th June 2010.  Currently, finalizing the educational package for teachers and students is taking place. The package is intended for deconstruction of gender stereotypes and prevention of violence in partner relationships. Also, the planning of the training course for teachers who will work with students of the age of 14-16 is in progress. Training for teachers with the goal of building awareness on gender (in)equality will take place later this year in Athens. Educational package will be adapted and available in Croatia, while the training will be conducted in Germany, Austria and Greece.

The project is going to last two years and will be coordinated by the European Anti-Violence Network from Greece with participation of SPI Forschung gGmbH from Germany, Austrian Women Shelter Network / Information Centre against Violence from Austria and the Hellenic Association of Health Promoting Education Teachers from Greece.
