In 2009, CESI continued with its activities to realize goals according to plans. Together with regular activities that included seminars, workshops and lectures in which 1500 persons took part (mainly women and youth), we have published manuals, provided consulting, and organized actions and campaigns. At the beginning of 2009, we have initiated new web portal Libela that provides information on gender and democracy.
Our project Silence is Not Golden was selected as one of the top 10 projects among 1300 other projects from Central and Eastern Europe and received an international award by Erste Foundation for social integration.
Advocacy and cooperation with other organizations made an impact on social policies. We monitored key laws dealing with gender equality and their adjustment with EU laws, participated in the preparation of recommendations for women's human rights, and for improvement of sexual and reproductive rights and health of youth. Our researches are well acknowledged and new research "Men and Gender Equality Policy" which is part of international project IMAGES is ongoing.
Our accomplishments are result of the work of dedicated team of over 30 activists and professionals involved with CESI, as well as 50 volunteers.
